About Cadre Design

Ca-dre (ˈkä-drā), 1. a group of trained or otherwise well qualified personnel. 2. a skilled work force. n.

At Cadre Design, we pride ourselves on being just that; well-trained and well-qualified to best serve our loyal clientele. To us, architecture is a service industry, and it is our service that sets us apart. We do it cleaner, faster, and more efficiently than the other guys, and without the unaproachable attitude for which so many architects are known. Our firm is NCARB licensed and currently active in PA, NJ, DE, VA, and NC. We are also certified NAHB Green Professionals.

Senior Partner
Howard Stein

Howard Stein

Howard wants to live in a world that embraces the work-to-live mantra - where people can spend as much time on their personal adventures as they do on their professional pursuits. As an architect with over 20 years experience, he diligently created an impressive resume of corporate experience before making the leap to acquire his own business. Cadre Design has become living proof of Howard's ideals, with that life-first passion pervading the office culture and client relationships.

Often mistaken for Matthew McConaughey (this really does happen), Howard can regularly be found doing his best Wooderson impression, just L-I-V-I-N. If you keep your eyes peeled, you may catch a glimpse of him snowmobiling across the Canadian tundra, playing a gig with his band, or out on a remote lake, fishing for his dinner. Next up, a sabbatical on a sailboat perhaps? Alright, alright, alright.

Partner & Designer
Adam Rogers

Adam Rogers

Adam spent his formative years buried in how-to books, like The Way Things Work, unknowingly grooming himself for a career in problem solving. From his education as an engineer, through to his current position as a partner at Cadre, he has always found ways to turn those inquisitive roots into professional pursuits. For Adam, working at Cadre became the solution to how he could exercise both his creative and pragmatic passions at the same time.

When not in the office, Adam keeps very busy in his local community. As a co-founder of the Transfer Station retail incubator, a board member of the Manayunk Food Co-op, and a producer of the MyManayunk small business video campaign, he has become heavily invested in the development of Philadelphia’s Northwest corridor. Adam also makes sure to keep things fun, with his head in the clouds, currently working on his pilot's license.

What clients are saying about us

Cadre Design was instrumental in creating our wonderful headquarters in Philadelphia. Howard and his staff were very collaborative with me and indulged my artistic involvement. The building design has held up wonderfully over the years and still looks contemporary and fresh. I would trust Cadre with any architecture project and would look forward to working with them again.

Sarah Miller, Ex. Dir. at the M3 Creative Group

The team at Cadre Design fully captured our imagination. They were professional and enthusiastic from start to completion of our wonderful new home. A first class friendly service that we would highly recommend to anyone."

Kelly and Robert Matthews

Working with Cadre Design over the past twelve years has always been a great experience. The designs are creative and the quality of the documents we receive is very high. For a contractor, quality documents not only allow your pricing to be accurate but they also minimizes mid-job change orders. With Cadre, there is never a worry - the documentation is always grade A.
